and

Institute of Food Research and Product Development, Kasetsart University

agree on collaboration to develop new food products using super-fine rice powder

On March 30th 2016, Nishimura Powder Engineering (Thailand) Co. Ltd.- NIPE , a subsidiary company of Nishimura Machine Works Co. of Japan, and Institute of Food Research and Product Development, Kasetsart University -IFRPD have agreed on collaboration to research and develop new food products using super-fine rice powder.

Rice powder is being widely used as food materials in Asian countries.  IFRPD of Kasetsart University, the leading institution of research and development of new food products in Thailand – one of the large rice producers in the world, has been making efforts to research and develop new types of food products.  By using the Super Powder Mill supplied by NIPE, IFRPD can do more research to develop new types of food products using rice powder.  The Super Powder Mill is the milling machine for semi-wet and dry type with air stream, and its water usage is considerably low and does not require so many equipment compared with traditional wet type milling machines.

Nishimura Machine Works Co. of Japan has developed the new technology to mill super-fine powder with minimum damage to starch for both short and long-grain rice, and has been making efforts to develop food products using rice powder especially aiming to gluten free.  By using this Super Powder Mill, improvements on products, such as breads, cakes and cookies, and development on new types of products can be expected.  Nishimura Machine Works Co. established its subsidiary company in Thailand, NIPE, last year and NIPE and IFRPD have recognized that the both parties share the same objectives.

In this August, IFRPD will introduce food products using rice berry at the show at Siam Paragon for the promotion of rice berry.  This rice berry is the rice developed by IFRPD which has high nutrition contents and health functionalities.  Before the show, NIPE will dispatch a cooking specialist of rice powder from Japan to IFRPD for the joint works on developing new recopies using the super-fine powder of rice berry.  For this food show, a former royal family member has been supporting the promotion of rice berry for the health benefits to people.
